Guard Your Mind [Video]

(view video below)

As Mahatma Gandhi said, "I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet."

Who do you let into your consciousness?  Your mind is the home to your thought-life. To stay focused and accomplish anything of significance you need clarity. It's hard enough to keep your mind-space clutter-free with your own flow of thoughts. When you add outside visitors -- comments from others -- it can get messy. I doubt you would appreciate someone visiting your house and trashing your living room. Negativity is like mud. It leaves smears all over your vision and makes your dreams hard to see. Scientific studies and wisdom traditions emphasize the importance of managing the mind as a key to fulfillment and health. Take ownership of your mental house and guard your mind. Lay out a welcome mat for new ideas while setting ground rules for entry. Be a witness to your thoughts and the language of others. Only let in messages that will serve and support you. Allow everything else to float on by. Close the door to toxic people and look out for attempts to manipulate your thinking by individuals or propaganda. If you know you will encounter someone who is negative, fortify yourself ahead of time with affirmations and minimize your exposure. Be mindful of what you watch and listen to, particularly before bed since your subconscious will pick up the information and energy. Make your mind your sanctuary and you will create a clean slate for creativity, innovation and peace.

CENTERING THOUGHT

I am the gatekeeper of my mind.

YOUR CALL TO ACTION

Your call to action this week is to guard your mind. Ask yourself: How can I detoxify my mental space? Notice any situations where other people's negativity creeps in. How can you move it out? This entire week, be vigilant about your thought-life. Seek to maintain a clear and peaceful mind. You may encounter toxic people or messages. In what ways can you protect your mental home from unwanted visitors ? That's your practice this week. Let Mahatma Gandhi's words seep into your being: “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.” Let me know how it goes by commenting here on YouTube (or using Facebook comments at the bottom of the page). I'll check in at the end of the week to see how you did. Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!

With Purpose & Power,

Terri
