Claim Your Success [Video]

(view video below)

As Zig Ziglar said, "The real opportunity for success lies within the person and not in the job."

How well are you harnessing your personal power? When I was hired as a Management Associate at MTV Networks in 1992, I didn't allow the entry-level title to stop me from innovating. Within a little over two years, I founded VH1 Interactive (at the start of the commercial Internet) and then the VH1@Work Radio Network. Within five years, still in my twenties, I became one of the youngest Vice Presidents at the company managing business operations and negotiating multimillion dollar landmark deals. That happened because I had a knack for identifying new business opportunities and mobilizing the resources to get them launched. I get excited about turning nothing into something -  from thought to reality - and now I teach people how to do that. Recognize what is special about YOU and let it shine through. Harness your personal power and claim your success. Believe in your ability to create and be great. Whether you are the CEO, a first-year associate or a newly-minted entrepreneur, don't allow the job title to define you. Identify with your innate potential versus simply your position. Take time to understand your unique mix of talents, skills and traits. Approach your work with passion, commitment and an optimistic attitude. Keep your eyes open for ways to add value. If you have reached a certain senior level, stave off complacency and focus on leaving a legacy. If you are just starting out, speak up and show up fully. If your job or industry has changed, look for new ways to contribute. Instead of waiting for a particular event or title to validate you, BE a success right now and leave a significant mark where you are.

CENTERING THOUGHT

I claim my success.

YOUR CALL TO ACTION

Your call to action this week is to claim your success. Ask yourself: How can I claim my success now? Do an assessment of your skills and talents. Ask someone you trust what they think you do well. Consider past experiences where you felt you truly contributed. What were you doing? That's your practice this week. Let Zig Ziglar's words resonate in your being: “The real opportunity for success lies within the person and not in the job.” Let me know how it goes by commenting here. I'll check in at the end of the week to see how you did. Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!

With Purpose & Power,

Terri
